Food was really good. The pork satay is very tender, not dry at all. The noodle and nasi campur babi was good!! The only downside is the rice was cold, probably pre-plated while waiting for the sides to be prepared.
Service level is not acceptable at all. The shop wasn’t welcoming, probably because we came in at 8:15pm and most people were already done. I had to ask for a seat, then I had to ask them for cutlery and when it came to time to pay, the cashier guy was busy chatting with the other waitress and going through the food menu of a neighbouring restaurant, Cheng Ji Seafood. I stood at the cashier and had to call him four times! How embarrassing. 🫨😨😵💫🥹
Staff are very helpful and friendly. Made the dining experience so much more enjoyable. Food quality is always very consistent. The fried squid with salt and pepper is really good. The spicy frog legs are good and so are the noodles. There’s a small dim sum menu and those are pretty good too.
Good place for lunch in Siglap. Only 2 of us so didn’t get to try the different dishes yet … so may have to come back. Noodles were quite good. Satay was OK … I prefer the Singaporean/Malaysian style more.
Their Fridays / weekends brunch menu is one of the best comforting breakfasts I’ve had in a while. From the generous portions of pitan porridge to the fantastic small plates dim sum style, everything was just primed for a great food coma after wards. Do come earlier in the morning as some breakfast items are not in the main menu!
It is a very nice place for dining with family and friends. Food were slightly on the saltier side, probably the dishes were catered to pair with white rice. We highly recommend the gong bao frog legs. The meat is substantial and comes with a lot of cashews. I am not a fan of pork but do give the satay a try! The meat is tender and marinated well.
The drinks were a little pricey (a real coconut juice cost $8.88 and the passionfruit soda comes with passionfruit syrup and not the real passionfruit seeds >_<)
The staffs are the real gems! There were only one lady and one gentleman working at the floor when we visit. It seems like that they are understaffed but they still wear a smile and serve with great attitude. We were served a complimentary dessert as they saw us celebrating birthday there. Do treasure your people :)
Food quality was good with each dish well executed and reasonably generous portions. Service was friendly and prompt. Restaurant had a retro feel but a bit spartan. Pricing was reasonable - $100 (inclusive of service and GST) for 5 dishes which was very adequate for 5 diners. The reasonable pricing contributed to the 5 rating
Love the noodles (mie keriting) texture.
Order the spicy kungpao frog leg. It’s quite salty but good to pair with plain rice.
Good place for big group.
Noodle dishes like mie keriting were well executed, with springy noodles of good texture. The roasts - roast pork belly, char siew were ok. Nasi campur was ok, not overly impressed as the roasts were similar to that of the noodles. Ngo hiang texture and taste left the impression that it was very processed, the texture more like that of fish cake rather than regular ngoh hiang. Fu yong hai was average. Service was friendly and responsive and ambience was nice.
